For the record, this test was run on a Terminator with a gig of RAM overclocked to 2.404 gb speed.

I gave Super Shredder a test. I made two copies of a 9 mb file that I wanted to shred. I ran SS on one copy set for the the 3 pass shread. After 10 mins it was still on the first pass so I aborted.

I then ran the Ace Utilities Secure Delete shredder on the second copy set for DOD 7 pass shred. Took about 3 seconds to complete. I then used the ACE shredder to shred a 4.5 mb file 7 passes and it took less than 2 seconds.

Ace also has a Free Space shredder in the latest update. It will shred all of the free space on your hard drive. To do a 40 gig HD (87% free space) @ 7 passes is an overnite job.

Since I already have Ace, I saw no reason to keep the Super Shredder so I used Ace to uninstall and shred it. (g)
