I think Wave is a convenient tool to test the marketability of the TPM-based paradigm. It enabled Intel to turn a quick time-to-market motherboard SKU. Nothing more, nothing less. As LaGrande and NGSCB come into their own, I fully expect this "date of convenience" to pass into obscurity.
