Anonymous identity queries: The challenge-response process can be configured so that your own email address is not included. This prevents your email address from being validated by spammers and eliminates all bounce-back error messages from your POP3 accounts.

They generate the message off of your email server, and it's not tied to your email address or it comes from there server. I'm not sure which.You have seen those mailing list types that you can't respond to the address. An example out of my white list is "[e-mail]" When you buy something or sign up for a site on line they give an automated response. You have to be alert for these or they will be lost in the trash. You will usually expect them so it's not a problem.
