Your argument that there would be one software company as a reason for Microsoft not being a threat is specious. Microsoft has a history of going after applications that they think are very relevant to their core technology and for the most part have been successful at it.

And thanks for your permission for me to have my concerns (which you consider fears). In turn I'll grant you permission to stick your head back in the sand.
