I joined in 1981 as a Submarine Radioman. Then after a couple years in sub's, I went into Special Operations, where I jumped out of planes & fast roped out of helicopters and blew stuff up...lol After 10yrs of that, I went to US Special Operations Command as a staff weenie. Then spent my last 7yrs in the Pentagon, from 1996 to 2003, as the Chief of Naval Operations Personal Communicator.
All in all I managed to hit over 38 countries...lol I had a blast and wouldn't change any of it for the world. I finally decided to retire because there just wasn't anywhere else I could go. I couldn't go any higher in rank and after being the CNO's personal comm guy, well it was over.
