#2 - gives me this mental image of you walking down the street wearing truly HORRID Bermuda shorts, and a slightly stained shirt that clashes. Socks, with holes in the heel no one can see as they are safely tucked into the second hand shoes (white, matching the belt--what a deal you got on those, although the seller thinks so too!). If you walk like you need to hurry to the rest room no one will notice the holes in the soles...
Shades of Minnie Pearl, both shirt and shorts still have price tags attached (original price and several subsequent lower ones crossed out) as you are very proud of the deals you dickered on them.
Sunglasses, of course, complete the look (and mitigate the impact of the clashing patterns--even the frugal can combine style and substance if they work at it...).
