My (very limited) understanding of the issue makes me think that the problem is more likely to lie with BitDefender than with AU. Apparently many antivirus programs load drivers of some sort, so it seems to me that the drivers that BD loads must be defective in some way, so that they conflict with AU.

Does that make sense?
