shorts: correct me if i am wrong, but most of those trades on 6/1 were 500 share blocks. Because of the special treatment (noone reduced below 500), if 500 shares were shorted for that trade, 500 shares have still been shorted. Without the special treatment, only 1 would need to be covered after the R/S. Otherwise, I can understand how posters say a 250K sale is now only 500 shares, but there are still a bunch of people who made 500 share trades, and those shares have to be delivered. It will all come true in the end, but most trades on friday were 500 blocks that will not be reduced.
