We've had up to 2.6 Ghz AMD laptops since 2004 and, at the moment, AMD is pushing generally slower stuff though with two cores. Right now, I think that they are at 2.2 in X2 and 2.4 in single-core though laptops with a single 2.4 are pretty scarce.

Given a reworked K8, I suspect that we will again see notebook chips that top out at 2.2 Ghz. Will AMD add SSSE3 and SSE4 to these chips? These features could be useful for apps like iTunes.
