SIRIUS Selects NXP Semiconductors for Satellite TV Service
Nexperia PNX9520 Processor to Enable SIRIUS Backseat TV in 2008 Model Year Chrysler Vehicles

NXP Semiconductors today announced that Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (Nasdaq:SIRI) has selected its Nexperia™ PNX9520 processor for SIRIUS Backseat TV™, a ground-breaking TV service that delivers live TV from the best family TV programmers directly to vehicles. SIRIUS Backseat TV will be launched later this year in select 2008 model Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge vehicles. The PNX9520 multimedia processor from NXP has been designed into a system from Delphi Corporation.

Families will be able to access SIRIUS Backseat TV’s high-quality entertainment through a simple, easy-to-operate TV service, featuring children’s TV channels including Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network.

The Nexperia PNX9520 processor from NXP enables vibrant, leading-edge picture quality through a combination of highly efficient video decoding, advanced post-processing and graphics acceleration features – all available in a single, highly integrated device. Specifically designed for in-car entertainment, the PNX9520 solution is unique in offering advanced software features, including the ability to implement the latest audio and video codecs as they become available.
