For the detailed description. I tried that and 99Dan's idea and neither worked.

When I get rid of the Welcome screen, it replaces it with a login box that makes me enter a password.

I used to be able to push the power button on and my WinXP Pro would load straight to the desktop.

Since installing the software for a HP all-in-one scanner, it's changed the way Windows boots up for some strange reason.

I don't want to do a System Restore to a time before I installed the scanner because it works good.

I have no idea how I set it up before so that WinXP booted up straight to the desktop?
