Maybe I misunderstood you. It sounded like you were claiming that Intel is aiming IPF at high end desktops next year. There aren't any products on the roadmap that reconcile with that intercept. I do, however, think that IPF will gain competitiveness versus Xeon next year with the introduction of the IA-32 EL and additional infrastructure. The processor release next year - Madison 9M - is only a stop-gap solution, as far as I can see. It's not much more than a "speed bump" until Montecito.
