Grand Entertainment & Music, Inc. Recaps Big Lou's Spring Success
Market Wire "US Press Releases "
MONTREAL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/10/07 -- Grand Entertainment & Music, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: GMSC) is pleased to announce that Big Lou had a busy and successful Spring, and is looking to culminate that success with the release of his first mixtape under DJ Kay Slay.
Big Lou has finished recording his first mixtape under DJ Kay Slay and the Street Sweepers label. The production is due out next week. All tracks have been recorded and are now being mixed and mastered. The new release will be titled "Playtime is Over." All songs on this release were written by the Lost City artist.
While finishing up his much anticipated mixtape, the buzz about Big Lou continued as he sold out shows and turned heads with his performances. Last month, for the first time in the history of the label, all of the Street Sweepers artists were brought together for a one night only performance. Xanadu Nightclub was the place to be as Big Lou, Papoose, Vein the Empress, and Hedonis the Amazon all performed in front of 3,000+ fans in Philadelphia.
Despite all of the shows, interviews, and work on his upcoming release, Big Lou also found himself in the recording studio with Dr. Dre's protégé artist Joell Ortiz. The Aftermath/Interscope label artist Joell Ortiz invited Big Lou to record a collaboration. The release "Latin Assassins" has hit radio airwaves, and is currently on major radio stations throughout the country. The single is in top demand all over college campuses, and by DJs from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, and Tokyo. Fans can hear the track on Big Lou's MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/biglouthespanishfrankwhite) or on HipHopGame.com (the largest hip hop website on the net). "Latin Assassins" received over 10,000 hits within 24 hours of being posted on HipHopGame.com, and had received over 9,000 hits on Big Lou's MySpace page since it was posted two weeks ago.
"The response to Lou's collaboration with Joell Ortiz is just astonishing," stated Frank Urban, Big Lou's manager. "This entire month has been incredible. The Street Sweepers show in Philly was probably the best show I have ever seen. The crowd response was tremendous. We are excited about the release of 'Playtime is Over.' The tracks on the mixtape are unreal. Fans will definitely not be disappointed. The release of Lou's production with DJ Kay Slay couldn't have come at a better time, as Lou gains international recognition from his collaboration with Joell Ortiz. That single had introduced a lot of people to Big Lou's talent and lyrical abilities. People all over the world want to know who Big Lou is. It's only a matter of time before Big Lou explodes on the rap and music scene."
