Why do scam stocks always change their ticker symbol when they do a reverse split? Are they trying to hide from their past? Most charting sites will adjust for the past symbol, but message boards seem unable to change symbols. I usually see a new board started.

There is no rule that says the ticker symbol has to change on a reverse split. But I see the garbage stocks do it all the time. It usually does not help the stock price anyway. In fact, the new stock symbol is often "lost" among investors, and there is no one to buy it.
