CDEX Announces Land Mine Contract with US Army




ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 2002

CDEX Inc. (CDEX), a Nevada Corporation, announced award of a contract to perform additional testing of its proprietary mobile explosive detection system, EM-1, under the auspices of the

United States Department of the Army's Communications and Electronics Command, Electronic Sensors and Night Vision Laboratory.

The testing is being conducted over simulated minefields at the Yuma Proving Ground, AZ and Fort Leonard Wood Fort Leonard Wood, U.S. army post, 71,000 acres (28,700 hectares), S central Mo.; est. 1940. It is one of the largest basic-training centers in the United States and also provides training for army engineers., MO.

The EM-1 uses the chemical detection technology purchased by CDEX from Loch Harris (LOCH), a Nevada corporation (for additional information regarding the EM-1 visit the CDEX web site at www.CDEX.com).

Malcolm Philips, CDEX CEO, states "this contract is a critical first step that will provide the Army with additional information concerning the EM-1 and will allow CDEX to gain valuable experience in the field."

CDEX is also in various stages of developing the chemical detection technology into other commercial products, including fixed and mobile systems that can detect explosives, drugs, and chemical/biological agents from close range and substantial distances for a number of applications (e.g., airport and building security, building surveillance, and non-intrusive surveillance of transport mechanisms such automobiles, boats and individuals).
