His neurologist has declared him permanently diabled and signed a document stating such. He has stopped taking almost all hi medications because he can't afford them. I'm afraid he may try to do something stupid though without the pain meds, so that is why I am helping out until the pfizer application comes through. The neurologist is going to do the same with his other "neurological" type medications, effexor for anti-despressent, Lyrica for nerve damage, neurontin for siezures. His family doctor is going to do the same for his diabetes meds, which he hasn't taken in 6 months.
His business is failing and it looks like bankruptcy is the only choice, so he will lose his only income plus ever asset he has because he is in hock to his eyeballs. He has no family that can help to speak of so we are trying to figure out where he can live once he loses his home.
We are working with Binder & Binder to try and get disability benefits for him. We had been delayed in getting him applied for it because he was "working" until recently. According to the "rules" you cannot be gainfully employeed or be able to perform any substantial "work" in order to qualify for disability. He didn't meet that criteria until recently.
He has stock but unfortunately 2 of the 3 he owns are revoked, CMKX and BCIT. The other he owns is Entourage but its only worth a couple of grand. He's being sued by BCIT, as is every shareholder of the company inlcuding me, by the CEO. I don't understand it. Its the most bizzare situation for a stock I have ever seen.
He is actually doing alittle better in the last couple of weeks because of a new drug he is on that the doctor gave him a month or so worth of samples. If it keeps working, he might be able to stop taking a couple of other meds.
He has had it tough and doesn't deserve what has happened to him. He is really a very nice guy, gives a lot of himself and cares about people. He still supports two kids in the Phillipens via Christian Childrens Fund, even tho he can't pay for his own meds. Its always the quiet ones who ask for no recognition, who give from the heart, that crap like this happens to. Its really not fair.
