I finally noticed what the fuss was about: "They've authored Internet rants and SEC comment letters that read as if they were written by Cho Seung-Hui, and generally made asses of themselves."

The point he is trying to make is that the longs / cult members have blamed everyone except the company and themselves. In that regard, where they make no sense and blame others for their own warped and twisted beliefs, they are similar to the writings of Cho Seung-Hui... not the actions.

Have you people ever heard of a metaphor?
