I wonder how Microsoft intends to get FIPS 140-2 certification for BitLocker and the pre-boot components, when we all know that they now require implementation utilizing TPM?

BTW, FIPS 140-2 is native to Windows for data-in-transit. Has been for some time.

I spoke with someone who works for the VA this afternoon who told me that they will begin using BitLocker (as opposed to GuardianEdge) as they deploy Vista machines. And yes, they will use the TPM. FWIW.
