Hello again SodaShop Lovers everywhere:

From the soon to be HipHopSodaShop here at 8901 Fourth Street North in St. Petersburg,Florida. Now, they're digging trenches inside the SodaShop, they need more drains for more hookups for the ice machines and other things they're planning to be using, that the old Chinese restaurant didn't have. Whew this retrofitting is a lot of work.

Where those 2 men are standing is another trench.

There's the crew examining the trench.

Now they're examining the other trench.

There is the electricians equipment, they were supposed to be here today but you guessed it, they're stuck trying to finish another job. They may come tomorrow but if they're not it's still kool because they've got so many things here to do with the trenches and other things, that it'll give 'um time to do a little more without having the electricians in their way.

I walked out of the SodaShop at 7:30 pm, tonight, and they were still working. And I heard they started at 9:30 am. They want to get it done SodaShop Fans. I also heard that in St.Petersburg, it's par for the course for the City Building Dept to sit on your plans for 6 months and they didn't know that last fall when they said the SodaShop would open in December. They want it opened as much as or more than we do.

There are a number of other restaurants that want to open in this town and they're in the same bind. Because the City Building Dept is an equal opportunity delay agency. They delay everybodys building plans. I think for the amount of construction going on in this town (a lot) with half a dozen hi-rise condos being built downtown at around 30 stories each and everything else going on, the building dept that has to handle all these projects at the same time is too small. St.Petersburg is like a small town becoming a big town (Tampa Bay Devil Rays, major league baseball team call St.Petersburg their home).
