Dutch -- as you requested some counterpoint thoughts

The negative comes down to

All good secrets are on the servers

Nonesense....From Price Lists to Emails...lots of stuff are on mobiles.

See Main Point of stealing laptops as gaining access to his network. Guy is a techie not a suit. Main purpose may simply be reselling laptop --BUT management has to worry about inconveniece, replacement cost, liability, Data Trail, PR disasters.

Guy thinks everything is a corporate SCAM to sell. Hasn't done anything resembling a cost comparison or a cost benefit analysis.

Like so many today, thinks because HE says it that establishes it as Trust and Fact.

I'll let the market, the CIOs, the CEOs, and the Generals decide not the byte pushers. It's one thing to make a techy decision and an altogether different thing to make a good business decision.

The market will decide...not you, mot me, not the writer.
