3GDollars .. Strange to see that Howie now mentioned that others can design around our essential IPR, but just not cost effective way to implement the solution. Also, on the last CC, he stepped away from emphasizing essentiality of IPR, more on Commercial value of our IPR.

That was the only thing in the article that really caught my eye. All the other negative slants are not new news .. we've heard them all before albeit not so forcefully and cynically. Absent that comment from Goldberg one could easily write the whole thing off to a reporter trying to attract readership by sensationalizing an issue by presenting only one side.

I think it is fair to say that many/most of us have relied on management's comments regarding essentiality as the strongest rationale for the future business success of IDCC. What really concerns me is that Goldberg's backpedalling on essentiality is the kind of thing that can send sell-side analysts and institutions heading for the exit door in size. If Goldberg was accurately quoted you can't blame them. If he was misquoted or taken out of context IDCC had best get out a PR pronto to that effect.
