Agreed. Saying that the "Depository Trust Company has declared a global halt" definitely says something which isn't true or even possible. The DTC can't declare a halt.
Perhaps it was a misunderstanding on the part of the writer of that message?
When I asked why this halt wasn't on the DTC website, which is the first place I checked, I was told that it's because this kind of action doesn't show up on a website.
Which also seemed like a strange answer. Where is it supposed to show up, then? Now we know it was on the front page...LOL!
I was told I would get a copy of the PR from the DTC, but again, I only got that earlier BHUB PR regarding the TA
All around, a very strange sequence of events, imho. Perhaps it was just poorly handled by Penson, because in the end, the website did finally have a link to the action. But if someone had wanted to create a panic intentionally, they couldn't have done a better job.
My head is beginning to hurt. I'm going out for dinner, and then I'm watching the Family Guy!
