KeV....think about salesmen traveling through the country and filling their orderbooks in an offline ERP system. The come back to the office and replikate the data.
Think about the time spent for recovering the OS and all applikation and the data (IF available) and the costs). It´s easier and faster to restore the key.
Think about private data held in vaults which can´t be accessed by the company and are not backed up.
AND be sure.....
that most of the companies out there have insufficient backup mechanism and are happy to have a x-day old backup.....
