PinPoint(TM) - Russia Certification Advances to Testing Validation Phase
Monday March 26, 11:14 am ET

HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guardian Technologies International, Inc. (OTCBB:GDTI - News) today announced that it has received the export license from the Unites States Department of Commerce for its aviation security product PinPoint(TM). The export license allows Guardian to advance to the next step of technology validation necessary to secure Russia Federation certification for PinPoint(TM). Arrangements are now being expedited for Guardian to deliver PinPoint(TM) software, and other required technical documentation, to Moscow for the technology validation process to be completed at a testing laboratory. Upon successful completion of testing by the accredited laboratory, a full report will be provided to the Russia Federation representing the final step in the certification process.

In anticipation of this certification Guardian Technologies, through its Russian agents and partners, has accelerated business development activities to market the advantages of PinPoint(TM) throughout Russia. Upon certification by the Russia Federation, PinPoint(TM) will be immediately available for commercial deployment at airports throughout Russia. The Russian marketplace represents an immediately addressable opportunity in excess of a $50M, is the second largest market for Guardian and will be the first market in the world to deploy the threat detection capabilities of PinPoint(TM). Many of the 74 Russian airports are undergoing modernization and expansion activities to handle the increased domestic and international passenger traffic which ranges from a 10% to 20% increase per annum. The Russian Federation will serve as the model for deployment throughout the remainder of the world.

Using Guardian Technologies' proprietary "intelligent imaging informatics" (3i(TM)) process, PinPoint(TM) analyzes scanned images to identify threat items that may be invisible to the human eye. The software is accurate in detecting specific substances, which can enhance the effectiveness of existing scanning machines at airports, public buildings and other areas where security screening occurs. When a threat is identified, a visual warning is displayed alerting the human screener to follow up with a closer inspection.
