I find the suggestion of getting rid of SKS just plain ludicrous.
SKS=WAVX and vice versa. Am I disappointed and annoyed by his failure to accurately communicate numbers to us. You bet I am. Am I disappointed that the stock price isn't higher and company revenues aren't greater. You bet. But, I am quite confident that without him and his vision and belief in this dream we all have, WAVE Systems would have gone out of business long ago. His ego, self-esteem, his very being are tied to this company. They are joined at the hip. Whether we like it or not, the success of this company is up to him. And, I don't think WAVX had or has any chance to pull off this major coup and succeed without him.
I posted the following on the RB board. Like my earlier comments, this is my opinion. Nobody has to agree with it, but I couldn't sit here and read some of the foolishness and not comment:
Steven reminds me of some developers that I know. At times they are their own worst enemies and what is one of their strengths is also one of their weaknesses. I don't know if WAVX would still be around if SKS did not have unrealistic optimism, irrational exuberance and indefatigable persistance. I am sure that many times he thought he had a deal, only to have it fall through. That in the process of trying to get some of the gorillas to even listen to this little pipsqueak of a company, he has met much rejection. But he has not given up on the WAVE vision. He has been fueled by optimism, exuberance and persistance.
Unfortunately for all of us, imho, those same traits have impacted his presentations at cc's and shareholder meetings. I don't think he is a liar, but instead of giving us a realistic situation, he gives a "best case" scenario that could happen if everything fell into place like he envisions it. The problem is that it almost never does because most of the time WAVX does not control the timelines, etc.
Feeney, Lark, Peter, and BOD should recognize that and they should be mentoring him and long ago should have cautioned him against this kind of thing. He is talented and really smart, but we all have weaknesses.
Just my two cents worth.
