vickers2..I agree that NASDAQ is accurate but am aware at all times that their updates are old history when posted. Some other reports include mutual funds, I'm not sure about NAZ, & also it is weeks behind in reporting changes in the past quarter. I'm not defending the CNBC version as being real, just that its showing something good happening & that whatever it is , continues recently. Strange that they would spend so much effort on this site w/o data input of some merit.

CNBC simply titles the stats as "holdings summary" & includes mutual funds & seems to update weekly. The puzzling difference is their largest category, "other major holders".

I think that the retail public is still not allowed into the real securities "game". We are the people who come to the casino, the house is the SEC & funds, to some extent even brokerages. In today's high tech world, we should have updates daily as to shorting, major holders, failure to deliver, etc so we know what the funds know, but instead we are living in the Model T era. Hope CNBC has it right!
