You bought $100 worth of stock??? Dang, counting the $10 commission each direction and you force yourself to make 20% before you even break even. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
You might be better off investing larger amounts in more stable stocks, the commissions will kill you.
Oh, and he has every right to call this a scam. Your advice to "let them do what they do" is basically telling him to let people lie to screw over other people. It's 100% obvious that it's a scam...Ford, GM, WM, $400M+, CA, NY...c'mon...anyone pumping this or trying to illicit "hope" is just another con artist like Des, and yes, I like ripping those people a new azzhole.
