In the past he gave '30 days' for significant PR's which was fuzzy since PR's are hard to classify, details of the dividend distribution date which was a fuzzy 'any day now', contracts which would happen 'soon', 'Revenues this quarter' which will be forgotten, etc..., etc.... He can give nondescript information saying thing will happen soon or 'any day now' and he'll be alright but saying SSTP will fly in 15 days was a concrete time frame for a concrete event and now he's catching hell. I suspect shareholders are fine with hearing uplifting information that things will be happening soon but giving any type of a concrete timeframe gives shareholders a focal point.
