She pointed out that leading European defense firms—including Rheinmetall, BAE Systems, Thales, Dassault, and Leonardo SPA—stand to benefit significantly from this expansion. Additionally, South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace is emerging as a key player in global defense contracts. In contrast, U.S. defense companies are experiencing headwinds due to budget cuts and canceled procurement deals, leading to a relative downturn in the sector. Another critical shift in global defense procurement is unfolding as traditional U.S. allies reconsider their defense purchases. Canada and Portugal, for instance, are re-evaluating orders for U.S.-made F-35 fighter jets in favor of alternative options, such as aircraft from Dassault Aviation. Edmondson stressed that these geopolitical realignments are creating strong economic tailwinds, particularly for Germany, which is set to invest an estimated €500 billion in defense over the next several years. Inspired PLC CEO Mark Dickinson breaks down FY24 highlights, net zero strategy

Inspired PLC (AIM:INSE) chief executive Mark Dickinson takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company's 2024 financial results, its ongoing mission to help clients reach net zero, and the outlook for 2025. Dickinson provided an overview of the group’s four complementary divisions: software, assurance, ESG, and optimisation. These work together to help Inspired’s B2B clients manage energy costs, comply with ESG reporting obligations, and implement real carbon reduction strategies. “The backdrop continues to be increasingly favourable for Inspired as we help those clients navigate their way through those challenges,” Dickinson said, citing continuing demand despite lower energy prices. FY24 was a year focused on strengthening the balance sheet. Dickinson said the company eliminated all contingent consideration liabilities, raised capital, and reduced net leverage from 2.59x to 1.47x adjusted EBITDA—giving the business a firmer platform for growth. The company’s non-financial KPIs also moved in a positive direction, with cross-selling increasing and more than 50% of optimisation clients returning for additional services. Inspired is now serving 420 clients with optimisation support. Looking ahead, Dickinson said trading in 2025 started in line with expectations, and the business is progressing well on previously delayed projects. He remains optimistic about the pipeline and demand drivers, particularly in energy conservation, ESG compliance, and net zero support. Titan Mining reports record 2024 production, expands resources

Titan Mining President Rita Adiani joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company’s year-end results, highlighting record production and strong financial performance in 2024. The company met the upper end of its production guidance, while costs were 10% lower than the low end of its all-in sustaining cost (AISC) guidance. In Q4 2024, Titan Mining produced 21.7 million pounds of payable zinc, marking a 56% increase compared to Q4 2023. Total full-year 2024 production reached 59.5 million pounds. The company also posted Q4 revenues of $26.3 million, representing a 318% increase from Q3 2024 and a 241% increase from Q4 2023. Adiani also shared updates on the company’s mineral resource expansion, noting that Titan completed an updated mineral resource estimate and extended the mine life for ESM’s zinc operations until 2033. The updated estimate reports a 22% increase in measured and indicated contained zinc pounds compared to the 2020 resource estimate. In addition to its zinc operations, Titan completed a maiden mineral resource estimate for the Kilbourne Graphite Project. Solvonis Therapeutics engages PharmaVentures to support key AUD assets

Solvonis Therapeutics PLC (LSE:SVNS) CEO Anthony Tennyson talked with Proactive about the company's strategic move to commercialise two clinical-stage assets targeting alcohol use disorder (AUD). Tennyson explained that Solvonis has engaged PharmaVentures to support valuation and potential out-licensing for two lead programs—AWKN-001 and AWKN-002. PharmaVentures was chosen based on its three-decade track record in biopharma M&A advisory, with over 1,000 deals completed. Tennyson noted, “We’ve selected them for three reasons: their expertise, their experience, and their reach.” The two assets originated from Solvonis's planned acquisition of Awakn Life Sciences, a transaction expected to be completed in the second quarter. AWKN-001, now in Phase 3 trials, targets severe AUD in the UK and EU. PharmaVentures estimates the asset could yield around £60 million in upfront and milestone payments, plus significant double-digit royalties. AWKN-002, focused on moderate to severe AUD in the US, is in Phase 2B planning. This program could generate approximately £150 million, based on comparable transactions.
