proto there is another possibility for what happened to the 4X200 PIC. They very well could have been far along with the development but that very fact could have been why there was a sudden shutting down of the negotiations with the large transceiver companies. The large transceiver companies likely would not want a supplier of a critical material to also be a competitor in the sales of transceivers. That likely came up in the more advanced negotiations and Michael Lebby did not want to abandon his roadmap.

From the large transceiver makers point of view, it would give an undue amount of control to a small emerging company and could have long term ramifications on competing for sales especially in the next generation for 4X400 PICS. Keeping LWLG as a supplier of a material compartmentalizes their contribution and that means more of the money goes to the other partners. Tom Zelibor made it very clear that LWLG will not be making PICS and they will be a materials company. That was the new direction and I think it was an attempt to break a stalemate and re-engage negotiations. The Tier 1s can make those demands because in reality, LWLG needs them right now than the other way around.
