Just watched the Yanks vs Jays condensed game. Not sure I agree with Boone's management choice with Torres. I get that you want to send a message after Torres admired his single in the 2nd inning and was cut down at the plate in that inning. But then Torres went out for the 3rd. I don't think I've ever seen a manager bench a player for lack of hustle later in the game, after the incident has happened. Don't you usually sit the guy straight-away, so that he knows the deal and understands why the consequence has been enforced?

Would love to hear that discussion between Torres and Boone when he did bench him. And in all fairness, Torres isn't the first Yankee to admire a would-be homerun that doesn't clear the fence, but may be the first who was benched later in the game.
