I think these ‘ long shorts’ are actually shares created by the market makers in the run up at Nasdaq and have become ‘ naked’ by default. In creating liquidity the market makers never assumed a hard core, persistent and knowledgeable shareholder base. Now they are trying to nibble away shares by wash trading and after hour trading corrections to cover open positions. The shorts on this board are just retail shorts trying to earn a few Pennie’s every day, In other words, I am afraid this situation will persist for some time and a few here are surfing on the little ‘waves’ created by the market makers until a cataclysmic company announcement.
