Volpe is a Gold Glove SS batting .248. Now tell me who the heck would you replace him?
For the Yankees. when did I ever say they should replace him. I'm just saying he has been a huge disappointment. He barely has a OPS over 500 Since june 1rst. That is horrendous. Now this year our answer is nothing you can do. And probably with his fielding he is going nowhere next year either because he is cheap and you have no other options, and he is generally a plus defensive SS. So you can hope he improves. All I was saying is he, verdugo and stanton going to the IL, are the mian reason why this offense suddenly isn't very good.
Verdugo has been terrible too. I mean this guy has stunk since that homer against boston. This team doesn't have much around soto and Judge. Can't believe I'm saying this they desparately need stanton back.
As for the mets, they never came in with the expectations of the yankees. Yankees were in a all in season. Mets expectation were if we make the playoffs and some players develop it has been a good year. And the mets right now are not barely in a WC Race they currently are definetely in a wc race and currently hold the 3rd spot right now.
Despite a bullpen that has often tried to sink the season I mean they blew like 6 games in the 9th inning just in may for crying out loud, and they still are 3 games over .500. I personally think this team will win high 80's if they fix the bullpen at the deadline. which I expect at this point.
Iglesias has had a good year since coming up. Still a small sample size (Batting 7th today). But have you ever looked at the mets lineup. Look at the ops of the batters, than go look at the yankees. True nobody is Judge and Soto but there is danger everywhere, and I mean everywhere. This team has had one of the worst bullpens you would ever lay eyes on in a game that gets played in the bullpen now, and they are still over .500. There ace has yet to throw a pitch. Remember Senga. That changes hopefully Friday. I like the mets roster right now better than the yankees for the simple reason there is just really 1 whole. It is a horrendous bullpen. Now Bring Butto up to help the bullpen has helped. Moving Nunez to high leverage has helped. And If Diaz who I believe is starting to get straighten out will really help. Of course they need 2 high quality arms at the very least for this bullpen in my opinion.
