Goobie and Doobie on YouTube “I Was An MIT Educated Neurosurgeon Now I’m Unemployed” - nearly 8 million views in 8 days (viral). Dr. Goobie is an MIT educated neurosurgeon who is now unemployed. Doobie is his dog. Dr. Goobie quit neurosurgery after working for about 10 years. He primarily did spinal surgeries for people dealing with back pain, but became disillusioned when he realized most of his surgeries did not really help much, even though his surgeries were performed perfectly. He discovered non-surgery options often worked better than surgery (and opioids) but, since these options don’t make money for the hospital, they weren’t encouraged. This ethical dilemma led him to quit his lucrative practice, even though he is only about 40 years old and doesn’t have enough savings to retire. He is starting a YouTube channel and already has a huge following. He is an expert in pain management and seems like he could be the perfect influencer for Actipatch.
