LL agreed it was "basically the same". No real argument with her there. But that is not the same as "the same".

The UCLA variant would be significantly more expensive to manufacture as each dose in an individual batch (read the Nature paper). That means the QA process is per dose, and as longs should now begin to understand that is a very significant step.

There is at least one large difference known in the manufacturing process. For -L the cells are fresh until the entire process is finished, then frozen. While in the UCLA process the DCs are frozen after the initial stage, then thawed and the second stage is performed just prior to dosing.
