Moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1978. In 83 moved to Port Orange. I'm sure you know that Port Orange is about 8 miles south of Daytona Beach. Retired in Dec 2018 and sold our 2 story home in September 2023, wanted to move to a single story, and had to decide whether to stay in FL or move to Oregon, where our son and only child lives. Had not a positive experience when my parents got old, sick and died because they were 1,500 miles away and ultimately decided we didn't want to have the same dynamic with our kid once we began falling apart. Every single factor dictated we stay in Fl with the one and only intangible of our son, dictating we move out West.
