lizzy241, it's is 'somewhat' incomprehensible that the medical field can take advantage of a broken system. A couple of true stories.
My grandmother moved in with my parents and had a wheelchair. My Dad received a bill every six months for ~$200. for 'wheelchair adjustments' that never took place. The only answer he could ever get was "because medicare allows that much charge". Use the service or not we can bill for it.
Another instance was my wife fractured the bone just above her ankle and the doctor said get a walking boot. We walked into a medical supply office, found the correct size and went to pay for it. $94.50. They said we couldn't pay for it that it would have to go through insurance. 3-4 weeks later we received a bill for $618 for the boot. I called the manager and her response is that Medicare allowed them to charge. I told them they were corrupt and stealing and I would lodge a complaint with the state and US insurance commission. After discussions she ask what I thought was fair and I told her $94.50 plus tax. She told me to send that amount and we would be square.
It just galls me the corruptness of the system.
And then the government allows some liberal judge to stomp on the US Patent office and remove a patent which has virtually destroyed Amarin and many of it's shareholders.
Okay, I'll stop venting.
