The Ministry of Mining just announced the results of the call for expressions of interest (RFI) for exploring and exploiting lithium.
Key Highlights:

◾ Diverse Participation: Interest from companies across 10 countries.
◾Geological Potential: The majority of interests target regions with significant geological promise.
◾Innovative Technology: Over 80% of projects aim to utilize direct lithium extraction (DLE) technologies.

🔍 Next Steps: The Ministry of Mining is currently conducting a thorough analysis of these projects, focusing on financial capability of the companies, estimated annual production, technology, and mining experience. This detailed evaluation will play a crucial role in determining which lithium deposits will proceed to the next stage of contract assignments.

📅 Upcoming Announcements: By the end of August, the mechanisms for assigning contracts to prioritized deposits will be revealed. In cases where direct impact is anticipated, the Ministry will initiate the necessary indigenous consultations.

Chile's journey towards becoming again the leader in lithium production is gaining momentum. Hopefully, in the next few months, the Ministry of Mining will start assigning Special Operation Contracts (CEOLs) to the most promising projects and companies.
