Our son takes 100 mg a day of Vyvanse. My wife retired this year and he went on his company's health plan and the geniuses said he only needed 50 mg a day even though his 2 doctors had submitted scripts for 2 50's. So his doctor wrote 2 scripts one for 70 and one for 30. The formulary geniuses had no problem with that. He took 50 mg a day for a month and it was affecting his work. Now things are back to normal. The generic Vyvanse is $7 a script but Vyvanse is $150 a script. So he pays the $300 a month as a cost of doing business which he can well afford.

But the FDA is the culprit since they won't raise the allocation for the generic and they don't track doctors who are simply pill pushers. My son knows better than to sell his pills since he does need them and I have no pity on anyone who does since they are just gaming the system.

MLB has also banned adderall etc but players get exemptions when they claim they have ADHD.
