Sorry but you are wrong and sorry for your nephew and his GF. Common sense back then would tell you heroin was a drug to be avoided as opioids and fentanyl are today.

Janis Joplin died of a heroin OD. Did people learn from her death? No they didn't as evidenced by your nephew.

No one said it's time to legalize everything and if they did they are wrong.

As someone who lived through the 60s and 70s I know how drugs turn out and no they were not all bad.
