Rice's decision turned out to be the wrong one---he should have taken the out at 1B as it was his only play...

to think he had the option of picking up the ball, tagging the runner, and throwing home is delusional---Yankee IF was not drawn in and Rice was positioned to play Turner to pull---by the time Rice got to the squibber, Turner wasn't even halfway to the bag and IKF was almost on his way to the dugout
