My main point of view: hope!!! Unfortunately it is the ultimate goal in here. It sounds innocent but if his ambitions are big, he could do a few moves for his own sake and the company that may drive the PPS well. Those all accusations are allegations that probably are misunderstand and can be clarified if he deemed so. It is another weak, but possible angle to consider.
