The Cotropias are not Bulgarian, at least not by birth anyway. There are no US records of immigration for either one of them, Joe or Charles. In fact, Joeseph has been in Texas since first year of college, making him about a 40-years-plus Texan. Both have lived all over the USA.
Joseph and Charles have lived a majority of their adult lives in Texas. They may have Bulgarian contacts or a generation-removed set of relatives in Bulgaria, but that's as close as it gets. I did not feel like paying any more money to dig deeper. Both were born in the USA, native citizens of the country.

PS: The origin of the surname 'Cotropia' is Italian, not Bulgarian. Just FYI.
