I guess my rants and warnings on a dire future no longer needs to be said. The degree of damage to our Republic has far exceeded anything my dire conclusions could have made. I was so wrong. I didn't have the capacity to even imagine people would accept and behave this badly. There must be in most of us an urge to be totally free to spoil ourselves in the most corrupt manner and feel that power. We are releasing some of that devil in us and use Trump to feel thru him the rest.
We actually admire his total freedom to discard morals, ethics, or normal societal behavior and replace it with selfish intent. We can't quite get there by ourselves.
What Trump does for all of us is make our guilt go away. Make it acceptable to display these feelings openly.
The man that despises the military and blacks is actually increasing his approval rating. He can spit on you, and you seem to ignore it while you shake his hand at a campaign stop. We seem to have no ability to decipher that is morally acceptable. Hitler took 12 years to get to shove Jews in ovens. He did so from a time period where his nation was weeping from low self-esteem. His nation was broken and shamed. That was a rather easy starting point to capture national pride using scapegoats. It was understandable. he made it popular and acceptable to express our own inner demons. The transition from blame to genocide was a long progression. TRUMP started at a point where we were the envy of the world, and our nation was not burdened by any past failures. Seems his progress was miraculous compared to Hitler. Seems we always had this inner demon knowing it wasn't good to feed it but once Trump made it acceptable, we found the excuse needed to also expose our inner demons.
Before Trump we would never have a Supreme Court this corrupt and thumbing their corruption at us. Never have a GOP embrace openly racism, corruption, sedition, extortion and rape as a virtue. It took ONE MAN to free us of our burden.
Trump will win the electoral college easily. I have no doubt. Our biggest mistake was to demand a unified nation after the Civil War. We should have split in two.
But history is what it is and my statement is probably thought of as insane. Having an internal, no boundaries or border conflict is so much worse.
Personally, I will be spending a lot of time figuring out just what Trump will say and do on November 5th. he will propose a tax system that pushes us over the edge but at the time corporations would cheer. he will also create internment camps and ship 10 million out ASAP. he will declare his allegiance to Russia and disband from our allies. he will isolate us form all democratic nations. he will demand the heads of all that wronged him. he will become our first and last dictator.
Like all my past posts everyone seemed amused with my over-the-top assessment but given these started a decade ago some of you might actually remember them and be scared shitless that it is happening as i predicted. No happening in a much dire way. The speed at which this is happening has caught me off guard and i always assume earlier responses. To those that are scared I say let it be. Ride it out or ignore it. Nothing can change our course.
