I don't mean to give you a hard time about Blake. I grew up in a different time and I'm too old to change now. I'm not sold on analytics or using 4-5 pitchers every games as opposed to starter, setup and closer which is something the Yankees did with great success. I think the pitch clock puts too much stress on the pitcher, and the limitation in mound visits makes it even worse. And all that to save less than 30 minutes a game while fans in the bleachers are paying $100 for a ticket.

And the ghost runner was supposed to be temporary but now leaving the last pitcher to take the loss but not be charged for an earned run. That is not baseball and I will continue to rail against it.

As far as Monty is concerned I do feel bad for him as the article I posted seemed to agree. Last year when he was with the Rangers the pitching coach Maddox turned him around and he got a ring for it. That's something the current Yankees can't claim.
