For crowds to be wise, they must be characterized by a diversity of opinions and each person's opinion should be independent and free from the influence of others.



And just before that line,

The wisdom of crowds theory helps explain market movement and herd-like behavior among investors.



The Reddit folks are a clique / crowd and they specialize in group think . Say something to the contrary and they will kick you out of the clique.

IHub is similar. If I said I like Liz Cheney neither the DJT crowd or the Biden crowd would accept me.

For crowds there is no middle ground. You are either all in or all out.
