It is worth noting that the merger was first announced back in January 2023, and as of mid-March 2023, it had not yet received approval from the Chinese authorities. In a statement released at the time of the announcement, SportsQuest said that it expected the deal to close “in the first half of 2023,” but this timeframe may no longer be feasible given the current regulatory environment.
