That is how it works with Amex...kind of. There is no credit limit yet there is a credit limit...lol. marketing! ;)

That clearly shows he was not making payments and it caught up with him. It also shows why no one should use credit cards in general...unless you pay off the entire balance every Month. Let's be real...that's almost $12,000 in bullshite' made up charges(penalty/fees). The only way to avoid that is get a judgement placed against him and it will drop to the stated jurisdiction interest rate.

Or you simply make contact and settle...lol. The very worst case would be for the $15k amount and the rest would be scrubbed. But I am sure he has other cards as well(not paying)...those other co's won't sue you typically...just sell it off to a third party.
