It's because he stated in a PR (can probably find which one fast) that the next time he'll announce a merger it's going to be sure they merge. I really believe he's as tired as we are about calling mergers off.

After writing this, I found this in Friday's PR. :
It's been over a month since a release was issued by eCarfly, Inc. Desmond Milligan, President and CEO, clearly stated, "No news will be issued until absolute certainty is obtained and the merger is consummated." Mr. Milligan was questioned on this remark and was adamant that, "This new direction is in the best interest of ECFL."

Seeing this, I can only see them feeding us with PR in the following weeks, and we'll get a bump everytime... I just love this position right now, waiting and watching.
So to answer the question, yes I do think there will be a merger in the near future for ECFL!
