Using a vulture investor to fund your operations is hurtful to shareholder value. Any idiot can sign an ATM agreement. Had Missling financed the company like most companies do and made a strong case to influential institutional biotech investors over time, we’d have likely had high quality, influential institutional biotech investors owning a high percentage of the stock instead of index funds and retail only. Also, and for me the worst, is that funding the company through an ATM means Missling has no accountability. He can do whatever he wants (including enriching himself at shareholders’ expense) without having those pesky institutional biotech investors breathing down his neck for results. Missling knows retail investors and his buddies on the BOD will always support him, so he has carte blanche and nothing and no one to worry about. If you look at the history of biotech companies that fund their operations through LPC or other vulture investors, they’re almost always schlocky companies with little hope of real success. Using a vulture investor like LPC is a red flag for top-tier investors. So no, I don’t give Missling any credit. By the way, I’ve often said the science is interesting, which is why I own shares. There, I said something positive. Happy now?
